New Brunswick/PEI Trip

Warren had a conference in Charlottetown, PEI so I tagged along.

The first day we rented a car and drove to Moncton, New Brunswick.  We took a great tour of Hopewell Rocks.  We stood on the ocean floor and then 6 hours later came back to see the tide come in.  That day the tide was over 35ft.

Six hours later.....

Tour of a lobster factory

Lobster cages

11:00am.....No water.

1:00pm.... Lots of water!

 So many neat, old graveyards!

Confederation Bridge that connects New Brunswick to Prince Edward Island.  It costs $40 to cross and come back again.

What's a trip without touring at least one old catholic church?

The beaches were amazingly beautiful!

Loading up the double decker bus for our tour of Charlottetown.

Anne of Green Gables house! Not actually her house since she is a fictional character.  The author, L.M Montgomery used to visit this house often as a girl.  She used this setting in her book, Anne of Green Gables. Lovers Lane and the Haunted Woods are real places.

Don't know why this happened....I was influenced by one of the ladies on the tour bus ;)

The famous red dirt - made red by all the iron in the soil.  Great for growing potatoes!

This is the oldest church on the Island.  It was built back in the 1700's and I got to ring the church bells!

Fitting that we visited the very first credit union on the Island. It was created by a French priest who saw the farmers struggling.

We ate at the Culinary School of Canada - we weren't sure what was on our plates - we had to ask the server.  It was all very delicious though!

Part of the closing entertainment was Rick Mercer!  He was hilarious!!

We feasted on some famous COWS ice cream once or twice while in Charlottetown :)
