Bike

Warren and I really like to bike but we couldn't figure out how to with 2 kiddies. Grace, of course, could ride in her bike trailer but Ally is way too big this year.

So when I saw this neat "ride-along" bike I bought it. It works great! Ally can pedal or she can just sit and enjoy the ride. We can actually bike for about an hour before she gets tired.

Lilac the Fish

Ally has been hounding us to get her a pet! Finally we caved in a bought a Betta fish.

Betta fish are fed every other day, they like their water changed every few weeks and don't require an aquarium. Sounds like an easy pet to me! Ally has named her Lilac (it's actually a 'he' - the female Betta's aren't pretty colors) but we refer to Lilac as a 'she.'

We thought Lilac was dead a couple of times but now we just think she "freezes" everytime we come into the room :) Betta fish are suppose to live 2-3 years so we'll see how we do!

Camping..in the rain...again

We decided to go camping, again, even though it was suppose to rain, again.

This time we went out to Hunter Valley which is the spot we meet our dirtbiking friends. It's about 2hours West of Olds. There are about 10 different families that come from as far as Grand Prairie to trail ride in the mountains.

The girls definitely needed a bath after each day.

We woke up to this one morning.

Grace did NOT like the loud dirbikes. She told us they would, "Run over her." Warren finally convinced her to go for a ride which she tolerated. Warren said she chattered about "mommy" and the "trailer" alot on the ride. Grace and I spent a fair amount of time in the trailer due to the rain and the scary dirbikes.

A new family joined the group and their little girl is also named Allie. Ally and Allie had a great time playing outside.

Except for all the mud, it is a beautiful place to camp.

More Rain!

We're not sure how much more rain we can handle. Thank goodness, as I'm writing this post, the sun is shining!

Ally painting Gracie's nails. Grace loved it, of course. She wants to wear a dress everyday now - she says she's, "beautiful" and twirls around.

Ally may not look happy but she was! She found a "how to do hair" book at the library and wanted me to copy a certain picture. The girl in the picture has braids and bows around her whole head but Ally got bored. This child hates having her picture taken!

This is how we spent 4 whole days of pouring rain. At least our grass and newly planted flowers look great!

May Long Weekend

For the last 3 years, we camp with our friends, the Oke's, at their Delburne farm on May long weekend. There is no loud music or drunk people! The first night, we pulled the trailers into their large shed that usually houses the tractors because it was too cold and too muddy to pull the trailers down the hill to the campsite.

Finally on Sunday, the weather cleared up and Monday was beautiful. That's what we get for camping on May long weekend in Alberta :)

Warren and Gracie fishing. We bought the girls little fishing rods and they loved casting in the river. The fact they didn't have a hook was a secret.

Gracie actually prefers being inside the trailer. We had two dirbikes at the site and she was scared of them.

The first two powerwheels belong to the Oke's three children while the quad is Ally's. All 5 kids could ride the loop around the campsite at the same time.

It was cold and windy the first two days, so the girls spent some time inside doing a craft.....

and watching a movie.....

We look forward to next May long, although I'm sure it will be cold and windy yet again!

Rainy Days

We had a couple of rainy days a few weeks ago. The girls stayed busy with painting, picnics in the living room and making soft cinnamon and sugar pretzels!
