Public Skating!

This is Gracie skating. Actually, she's pretty good with one of those "skating trainer" push-things. She was actually very happy to crawl on the ice for a while. We had to drag both girls off the ice after skating was over!

Although Ally is a Canskate drop out, she still wants to go skating. One of the best things about Olds in the free public skating 3 times a week! Ally had hockey skates last year but this year she wanted skates like me. It's amazing how warm and comfortable figure skates are these days! I had the cutest video of Ally doing a spin but I cannot figure out how to load it.....

New House #5

So I know what you're thinking, the house looks the same but it now has shingles! It's also prepped for cement in the garage as well as almost done being insulated. I believe the plan is to put on the siding and possibly drywall next week. Our builder says we're still on track for December :)

Thanksgiving Weekend

Our Thanksgiving this year was, well, untraditional. The forecast called for beautiful weather so we made a day trip out to Hunter Valley on Saturday. We took the girls on a two hour trail ride. Ally rode with Warren and our friend, Drew, took Grace. The girls were troopers! We all enjoyed the beautiful mountains and even saw a deer.

Me - the little red bike is mine.

On Thanksgiving Monday we swam at the Collicut Centre in Red Deer and went for Chinese food at Sandy's. I did make pumpkin pie that we enjoyed later in the evening. I was initially very disappointed at the thought of Thanksgiving with no extended family but it turned out to be a great weekend :)

Gracie's Prayer

This was Grace's prayer before bed tonight:
"Dear 'Eavenly Father, than' you for, uh, camping,
than' you I pet Daisy,
than' you I be right back,
than' you for mooterbikes,
than' you for camping,
than' you for the Prophet and for blessings
(after some prompting)
Say 'ese things, name Jesus Christ, Amen."
Grace found this book at the library. We had to renew it a couple of times - she loved it! Warren's so proud.

Miscellaneous Pict's

We had a fantastic time camping last weekend! I didn't take pictures but imagine a sunny, cloudless, 28C day. We had a great dirtbike ride - I actually rode my bike and Warren rode with Ally on his bike. We went with about 6 kids (and one other adult) ranging from 6-12. At one point, our friends' little six year old daughter passed me going up a hill. I promised her we'd have a race up that same hill next Summer and that I'd beat her. She thought that was pretty funny.
These are some misc. pictures taken over the last couple of weeks.

They love each other :)

I took this picture today - the fall leaves are so pretty. I may not ever miss this rental house but we've enjoyed this backyard. The trailer is now winterized so it really is the end of camping for the year.
