Grade One!

School has started!  Ally is in French Immersion grade one and her teacher is Mlle Keith.
She has quite a few kids in her class from Kindergarten so she wasn't too nervous :)

Fairmont

At the very end of Summer we travelled to BC to Fairmont.  We were suppose to travel with Karen and Richard (as it is their timeshare) but Richard was not feeling well and they couldn't go.  Fortunately, they were OK with us going anyways!  We had a spectacular time and hope we can go every Summer!

Ally doesn't look very happy but she and Warren had a great time swimming in the Hot Springs.

The resort waterpark was right across the street from our Villa.

Grace loved riding Midget the pony.

Ally and I went on an hour long trail ride on horses.  It was a little high adventure for both of us.  It involved going up and down steep hills and across creeks.  We might need a little more practice!

The resort recreation center had a ton of activities planned everyday.  There were arts and craft classes, golf lessons, tennis lessons, hikes, day camps for kids (the kids did the little chef's morning camp and made pizza, fruit skewers and cookies), yoga and even cooking classes for adults.

Kananaskis

One of our first trips this Summer was going to Mnt. Kidd with the Van Orman clan.
We had great weather and lots of fun!

Ally made a "movie theater." The Ipad is leaning against the garbage can and they are watching Rio. So much for roughing it.
Nana and Grace.
Grace reading a book on our bike ride. She was the only one not breathing really heavily! Apparently flat ground is hard to find in the mountains.
Papa and Grace playing Littlest Pet Shops.
Gorgeous!!
We thought it would be tons of fun to buy a canoe. Warren found one on Kijiji for a great deal. We soon realized it was maybe a river canoe as it was quite tippy. We had fun but it was sold 5 days after we arrived home. We realized canoe's are really big and we weren't sure we wanted it in the garage all Winter.
Janae and Sophie
Ally on a nature hike with Aunt Janae
Warren participating in the Mnt. Kidd interpretive show on the water cycle.
He was "heavy metal." We all laughed because he was picked to be in a show last year as well....by the same girl :)
Richard and Warren canoeing. Apparently they found the water so refreshing they decided to go for a quick "swim."
More canoeing.
The girls LOVED the kid's pool. We spent many hours there.
The other highlight of the trip was that Ally figured out how to ride her bike without training wheels :)
