Orlanda, Florida 2014

We went to Orlando in February.  SO nice to escape the bitter Canadian winter! We spent the first week at Disneyworld and the second week at a resort in Kissimmee which is about 10 minutes away from Disneyworld.

This picture was taken bright and early!  We left the house at 6am.  We had a bit of a rough start.  We sat on the tarmac for 4 hrs before taking off due to issue that occurred because of the extreme cold in Calgary that morning. We, of course, missed our connection and ended up trying to get on a 7pm flight.  We didn't get on that flight and were finally sent to a hotel in Houston for the night.  Around 1am, Ally woke up and threw up all over the hotel bathroom.  I tried my best to clean up with beautiful, white hotel towels!  She slept soundly the rest of the night and everyone felt great when we boarded an 11am flight on Monday. Unfortunately this caused us to miss almost the whole first day of our Disney trip.

Our hotel, once we arrived, was beautiful. The rooms all surrounded a courtyard that had zebras, giraffes and other wildlife in it.  We could go on the balcony and watch the animals.

Ally watching cartoons in the lobby while I planned our day with the concierge.

Every night men would play bongo drums in the lobby and restaurant.  It was a real party atmosphere.  Lucky for us, our room was really far away from the lobby :)

The pool.  Unfortunately the weather and water for the first few days was a little chilly.  We were way too busy at the parks to enjoy the pool.

When we arrived Monday evening, we rushed to make our dinner reservation at Downtown Disney at the Raglan Pub and Restaurant.  They had Irish dancers who encouraged the kids to dance with them.  The girls had so much fun.

After dinner we took a night time balloon ride.  This is an internet picture since we couldn't take a decent picture in the dark.

Day 2 we visited Epcot.  They had some fun rides and we didn't even make it to the International Pavillions.  The kids were tired of walking after 8 hrs :)

Coral Reef Restaurant at Epcot. People were diving in the huge tanks while we ate.

Day 3 was at Animal Kingdom.

This lady in costume was amazing to watch!!

The Tree of Life.

Expedition Everest  rollercoaster.  May have been too much for Grace! Ally and I took pictures instead.

Grace is in there somewhere!  They got a little wet.  Ally and I watched safely from the bridge. Beginning to see a theme here?

The girls had great fun trading pins with Disney cast members.

Chip 'n Dale - the one with the big gap liked Grace's missing front teeth :)

Petting Zoo

We saw so many neat animals on the Safari Ride

Day 4 and 5 we went to Fantasyland

Breakfast at Cinderella's Castle.

Bibbity Bobbity Boutique.  The girls each had a "Fairy Godmother in Training" who did their hair and makeup.

The Electric Parade was like no parade we had ever seen. It was amazing!

Day 6 we rented a car and drove to Kissimmee to the Orange Lake Resort.  We were a little disappointed that the girls enjoyed the resort more than Disneyworld.  All we did was golf, swim (that lazy river was great), play at the park and hang out with Nana and Papa.

We did go to SeaWorld that week.

We bought fish and fed the seals but the naughty wild birds kept stealing the fish.

The Killer Whale show was great. The Shamu show was closed - apparently killer whales like to nibble their trainers.

The Dolphin show was the best show at SeaWorld! We also saw a dog and cat show and an entertaining seal/pirate show :)

One day we drove the 2 hrs to the beach.  We didn't end up at the beach we meant to but the girls had a great time.  They found a ton of shells.
