Getting Caught up.....

We have two really long planters in front of our rental house that I decided we could plant some veggies in. We planted peas, lettuce and broccoli. I think I'll plant lots of flowers in the bottom one. Neither child would look at me for a good picture....they were too busy attempting to place peas in a straight line :)

The Circus

Ally had a fantastic time at the Circus! She and Warren didn't get home until 11:00pm and she was still bouncing. Apparently the Circus doesn't have many animals anymore but the elephants are still a huge hit. Warren, the wonderful Dad that he is, paid for Ally to ride the elephant. The funny thing about that is that Ally was scared so he had to ride as well :)

I See You

Gracie loves this magnifying glass!

Can you tell that she let Ally dress her today?

TUTU's

Tonight Warren has taken Ally to the circus in Red Deer! Ally has never been to the circus and I'm SO excited for her. Gracie and I are staying home 'cause, well, Gracie couldn't even handle the dark and loud music at Ally's school play. Grace and I spent the entire time in the hallway! So, Grace is yelling at me from bed while I get caught up on my blogging. Who would have thought I'd make it this far :)

Ally and Grace have a fantastic Aunt whose name happens to be Aunt Janae! This Aunt Janae lives WAY too far away and we don't see nearly enough of her. Maybe that will change in the future?? For the girls birthdays this year, Aunt Janae made the girls these amazing pink and black TUTU's! Gracie, being typical Grace, would not put on the Tutu even for a picture. So, it is Ally's little friend from Red Deer, whose name also happens to be Grace but who has a WAY better tempermant, agreed to model the new skirts. The girls had a great time playing with their fancy Tutu's. Ally was being a bit on the silly side while I was trying to take the pictures.....

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day!

The above picture is not great due to 2 things:
  • Grace had touched the lens and made it dirty
  • My camera was just getting old. Who has a 5 mega pixels camera these days!

This is my new camera that I was given for Mother's Day from Warren.

Ally was so ticked that Warren didn't tell her - she's not the best secret keeper - that she ran to her room to make me (another) picture.

Warren made these delicious pancakes for breakfast. It was suppose to be a surprise while I was showering but Ally came running in the bathroom to tell me and Grace ran in right behind her to tell me the same thing :) Grace loves to copy everything Ally does. I love that they adore each other....most of the time.....unless it comes to whose turn it is to pick the TV show. Who would have thought that would start so young. Dora or Backyardigans. Such a hard decision. I know what decision I would make ;)

This is the wonderful picture that Ally made me.

I hope all you Mom's had a fantastic day!!!!!!!

Olds

We arrived in Olds last Friday. Hard to believe we've been here almost a week already! Since being here, we've been to Kindergarten orientation, signed Ally up for swimming lessons, found two parks and Walmart, visited the library and I went to Enrichment last night. Aside from our friends, life goes on.
Warren walks to work four times a day (he comes home for lunch) and is home by 5pm, mostly, every night. There is no traffic, people are friendly and I can go to Walmart on a Saturday afternoon and it's not even busy. I may enjoy small town living!
Here's a brief tour of our rental house.

The backyard - it's huge! There are big old trees and birds everywhere! The backyard is also infested with ladybugs which Ally has been collecting and putting in the tire swing.

The kitchen - I always wanted painted cupboards but not...well....this green.

This little 'ole tire swing is what convinced us to rent this house. Actually it was the tree it is attached to as well. The house is too small, has no dishwasher (we're working on it), cracked linoleum and one bathroom but it's kind of cozy :)
